Las Cruces Sun-News: Minimum wage is going up in Las Cruces in 2026. What to know

LAS CRUCES — The minimum wage in the City of Las Cruces will increase on Jan. 1, 2026.

According to Las Cruces Municipal Code, minimum wage for those employed in the city will increase from $12.65 to $13.01 an hour. The minimum hourly wage for tipped employees will increase from $5.06 to $5.20 an hour.

The city's minimum wage has increased from $10.25 in 2020 and tipped wages has increased from $4.10 in 2020.

An ordinance passed in 2014 that tied the minimum wage to the Consumer Price Index after 2020. Each year, the City calculates the minimum wage and tipped wage based on the ordinance and compares it to the State of New Mexico. The city adopts the higher of the two.
